Traditional twin-tube or mono-tube shock absorbers often require internal valving reinforcements to avoid bottoming out on large impacts, resulting in overly stiff suspension for daily use. The OME BP-51 shocks solve this issue with a position-sensitive piston system that adapts not to the speed of movement but to its positioning. This means they remain soft on minor bumps and become firmer as they compress or extend toward the extremes - the hallmark of the "Bypass" technology.
